Massapequa Police Activity League  Fall & Winter Registration

 9/2/06 - The Nassau County Police Activity League – Massapequa Unit’s new Police Officer / Director James Graham has just announced their Fall & Winter Program lineup and registration dates. 

Providing quality activity programs for Massapequa area youth since 1962, Massapequa P.A.L.’s Fall 2006 & Winter 2007 program includes a Boys and Girls Basketball program for grades 2 – 12; a special Line Basketball program for beginners in grades K - 1; Boys Beginning Wrestling for grades 1 – 3 and Advanced Wrestling for grades 4 - 6; Karate instruction, Tennis Instruction and our ever-popular Bowling programs.

 The P.A.L. Basketball program has an instructional Line Basketball Division for Boys & Girls in Kindergarten and 1st Grade and separate Girl’s and Boy’s Divisions for grades 2 - 12.   All Basketball programs run December thru February.  Line Basketball is played on Saturdays and all other basketball divisions play on various weeknights.  The registration fee is $75.  Each player receives a reversible P.A.L. Basketball jersey and a participation trophy at the end of the season.  Massapequa P.A.L. is seeking volunteer coaches to assist in this program.

 The P.A.L. Wrestling program is geared to boys in grades 1 – 6.  Our Beginner’s Wrestling program is open to boys in grades 1 thru 3 and our Advanced Wrestling program for boys in Grades 4 thru 6.  Wrestling will run December thru February.  The registration fee is $55 for Beginner’s Wrestling and $65 for the Advanced program.  Wrestlers in either division need not have any prior wrestling experience.  Every wrestler will receive a P.A.L. wrestling singlet and a seasons end participation trophy.  

Registration for the Basketball and Wrestling Programs will be held at the Police Activity League –Massapequa Unit office located at 510 Parkside Blvd. (northeast corner of the Massapequa train station) on Thursday evenings, Sept. 21st and October 5th, from 6 pm to 9 pm; and on Saturday mornings, September 23rd and October 7th from 9 am to 12 noon.  A late registration fee will apply to registrations taken after these dates. 

The ever-popular P.A.L. Bowling Program offers Bumper Bowling for boys & girls ages 4-7, Junior Bowling for ages 8-11, and Teen Bowling for ages 12 & up. Massapequa Bowl, 4235 Merrick Rd. (just west of Hicksville Rd.) in Massapequa will once again host our P.A.L. Bowling Program.  Bowling registration will take place at Massapequa Bowl on Monday, Sept. 11th, Tuesday, Sept. 12th and Wednesday, Sept. 13th from 4 pm to 6 pm.  The registration fee is $15 per person.  Bowling sessions start the week of September 18th.  Call P.A.L. The P.A.L. Tennis Program is a year-round program that includes both beginner and advanced beginner tennis instruction for boys and girls in grades 1-12.  P.A.L. Tennis instruction is held at Massapequa Sportime, 5600 Old Sunrise Highway in Massapequa.  The registration fee is $95 for each six-session program - payable to Woodmont Sports.  Registration for the fall session will take place on Thursday, September 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm and on Saturday, September 30th from 10 am to noon at our P.A.L. office (510 Parkside Blvd. northeast corner of the LIRR’s Massapequa train station).  Visit the P.A.L. website for future registration dates or call the P.A.L. P.A.L. Karate is a 3-month instructional program for ages 7 & up.  Classes meet once a week for a 90 minute session.  The registration fee is $50 for the entire 3-month program.  Karate instruction is offered on a year-round basis. Registration details will also be available on the MASSAPEQUA PAL website.
